Discovering Lago di Vizze

Vizze Lake, nestled in the scenic Vizze Valley in South Tyrol, is a hiking destination of rare beauty—perfect for those seeking unspoiled nature, restorative silence, and authentic experiences among the Zillertal Alps. Located just a few kilometers from Vipiteno, the lake lies along the trail leading to the Passo di Vizze, a high mountain pass at 2,246 meters, surrounded by alpine meadows, glacial peat bogs, and dramatic peaks like the Gran Pilastro.

Easily accessible via well-marked hiking trails, Lake di Vizze is ideal for panoramic treks, mountain biking tours, and nature excursions. Along the way, hikers encounter Alpine refuges such as the Rifugio Passo di Vizze, a welcoming rest stop and launch point for more challenging routes. In summer, the lake offers crystal-clear reflections and stunning views, while in winter it becomes a magical setting for ski mountaineering, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing, thanks to snow-covered loops and cozy mountain huts.
