Discovering Forcella Najareit

Nestled in the heart of the Friulian Dolomites, Forcella Najareit is a little-known yet extraordinarily enchanting spot. This mountain pass is strategically situated between Claut and the Upper Val Cellina. Here, among rock faces sculpted by time and silent valleys, nature reveals its purest power, offering breathtaking views of dolomitic ridges and pristine environments.

The trails leading to Forcella Najareit wind through beech and centuries-old fir forests, alpine meadows, and dramatic rocky landscapes. The route, suited for more experienced hikers, is a journey through biodiversity and dolomitic geology. Along the ascent, traces of ancient pastoral structures and dry-stone walls tell the long story of human interaction with the mountains.

Both cultural and spiritual, Forcella Najareit is also deeply tied to the traditions of local communities, who have visited these lands for centuries during transhumance and to gather medicinal herbs. Nearby villages like Claut and Cimolais preserve a rich cultural heritage, with traditional architecture, museums dedicated to alpine civilization, and local festivals that celebrate the connection with nature and the changing seasons.

Thanks to its elevated position and openness to both north and south, Forcella Najareit is ideal for meteorological observations and studying local climate changes, contributing to the environmental monitoring of the Dolomite region.
