Forcella Salincheit, located in the municipality of Frisanco in the province of Pordenone, is a mountain saddle at 1,459 meters above sea level, nestled in the untouched heart of the Friulian Dolomites. Positioned between Val Silisia and the ridge leading to Casera Valine, it’s a strategic point for hikes through remote landscapes where nature reigns supreme.

The most popular trail starts in Poffabro, a historic village listed among “Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages,” and follows CAI path no. 973a. After passing through beech forests and streams, hikers reach the saddle, which opens up to sweeping views of Monte Raut, Val Colvera, and the artificial lakes of Selva and Redona. Alternatively, one can ascend from Val Silisia via the scenic Sentiero dei Forestali, recently restored and enriched with educational panels that tell the story of charcoal pits, alpine huts, and traditional forestry practices.
