Discovering Moscheri

Moscheri, the municipal seat of Trambileno in the province of Trento, is a peaceful hamlet nestled in the Vallagarina Valley at 525 meters above sea level, where the beauty of the alpine landscape meets the depth of history and spirituality. The village is renowned for the evocative Sanctuary of Our Lady of La Salette, built in 1856 on a rocky spur. A destination for pilgrimages and a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Leno Valley, the sanctuary—modelled after the French chapel of the same name—is so iconic that it appears on the town’s coat of arms.

Moscheri is an ideal starting point for hikes to Mount Pasubio, a key site of World War I, and for visiting symbolic landmarks such as Fort Pozzacchio, a masterpiece of Austro-Hungarian military engineering entirely carved into the rock. Just a few kilometres away lies the Vincenzo Lancia Refuge, surrounded by pastures and stone huts, from which trails lead to Col Santo, Monte Testo, and Corno Battisti.

The Church of Saint Mauro, patron of the village, and the Hermitage of San Colombano, embedded in the cliff above the Leno River, enrich the area's cultural and spiritual offerings. Moscheri preserves traditional Trentino architecture and a strong sense of community, with religious events and village festivals that celebrate its local roots.
