Discovering Forcella di Pregoiane

The Forcella delle Pregoiane is located in the Friulian Dolomites, within the Friulian Dolomites Regional Natural Park, and is an ideal destination for those seeking an authentic and unspoiled mountain experience. This mountain pass, at about 1,919 meters above sea level, separates Cima di Bortolusc from the ridge of Cima della Meda and can be reached via the CAI trail no. 376, which connects the Pian della Pussa and the Rifugio Pussa with the Val di Gere and the Val Settimana. The itinerary alternates beech and larch woods, alpine meadows, and rocky stretches, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.

Hiking enthusiasts will find a wild and silent environment here, with routes that require good physical preparation and care in the steeper sections. In return, the views of the UNESCO Dolomites are unforgettable. The area is home to typical alpine wildlife — marmots, chamois, and birds of prey — as well as a colorful flora that blooms in spring and summer.
