Discovering Passo Piano delle Fugazze

Passo Pian delle Fugazze (TN), at 1,163 m, is a mountain pass in the Little Dolomites connecting the Vallarsa Valley in Trentino with the Val Leogra/Valli del Pasubio (VI). Located between the Pasubio Massif and the Sengio Alto range, it is crossed by the former SS46 road linking Rovereto and Vicenza. An ideal base for trekking and cycle touring, the pass is traversed by the E5 European long-distance trail and the Peace Trail.

From here, iconic routes set off: the Strada degli Eroi leading to Rifugio Achille Papa, through cliffs, trenches, and the D’Havet Tunnel from the First World War; and the Campogrosso Loop along the Strada del Re and the Strada delle Sette Fontane, featuring the striking Ponte Avis footbridge. Continuous views of Monte Cornetto, the Tre Apostoli, and Monte Baffelan.

Outdoor activities here span all four seasons: trekking, mountain biking, Nordic walking, and trail running in summer; in winter, splendid snowshoe hikes such as the Pian delle Fugazze–Alpe di Campogrosso loop along the Strada delle Sette Fontane, with vistas over the Little Dolomites.

The area’s strong historical and cultural dimension is embodied by the Pasubio Ossuary on Colle Bellavista, preserving the memory of the First World War and representing a stop of great symbolic value. The roads towards Campogrosso are closed to private motor traffic (bicycles allowed, unless otherwise restricted), ensuring a peaceful and safe environment for walkers and cyclists.
