Alla scoperta di Certosa
A oltre 1.300 metri di altitudine, immersa nella quiete della Val Senales, Certosa (Karthaus) è una località unica dell’Alto Adige, dove storia, spiritualità e natura si fondono in un’atmosfera senza tempo. Il borgo si è sviluppato attorno all’antico monastero certosino di Allerengelsberg, fondato nel 1326 e soppresso nel 1782 per volontà dell’imperatore Giuseppe II. Le mura del convento, il chiostro restaurato e l’orto di erbe officinali sono ancora oggi il cuore pulsante del paese, che conserva il soprannome di “Paese del Silenzio”.
La Via Monachorum, o “Sentiero del Silenzio”, è un percorso tematico che attraversa Certosa con dodici stazioni dedicate alla meditazione e alla storia monastica. In estate, escursioni panoramiche conducono alla Malga Klosteralm (2.500 m) e al Lago di Sassalbo, mentre in inverno la vicinanza al Ghiacciaio della Val Senales e alle piste da sci di fondo di Lazaun rende Certosa una base ideale per gli sport invernali e le ciaspolate.
Il borgo ospita mostre temporanee nel chiostro e promuove un turismo lento e sostenibile. La sua posizione strategica, a pochi chilometri da Merano, lo rende perfetto per esplorare il Parco Naturale Gruppo di Tessa e l’Alta Via di Merano, che attraversa la valle in due tappe.
