Alla scoperta di Lasa
Nel cuore della Val Venosta, a 868 metri di altitudine, sorge Lasa (Laas), celebre in tutto il mondo per il suo marmo bianco purissimo, noto come “oro bianco”. Questo marmo è stato utilizzato per opere prestigiose come la statua di Pallade Atena a Vienna, il Grand Central Terminal di New York e oltre 86.000 croci tombali per i caduti americani in Europa.
Il centro storico è ricco di sculture, fontane e dettagli architettonici in marmo. La Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista e il Museo del Marmo raccontano la storia estrattiva locale. La storica ferrovia marmifera, oggi sentiero escursionistico, collega le cave alle malghe.
Lasa è punto di partenza per escursioni nel Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio, verso la Vedretta di Lasa, le malghe di Sopra e di Sotto e i Monti di Lasa. La Via Claudia Augusta attraversa il paese tra meleti e borghi storici.
Famosa anche per le albicocche della Val Venosta, Lasa celebra ogni anno la festa “Marmo e Albicocche”. In autunno, il Törggelen offre vino novello e piatti tipici in un’atmosfera conviviale.
Facilmente raggiungibile, Lasa è una meta ideale per chi cerca autenticità, cultura alpina e natura incontaminata nel cuore dell’Alto Adige.
