Fiè Lake, also known as Völser Weiher, is one of the most enchanting alpine lakes in South Tyrol, nestled within the Sciliar-Catinaccio Nature Park and framed by the majestic peaks of the Sciliar and Santner Peak.

Located in Fiè allo Sciliar (BZ) at about 1,036 meters above sea level, the lake has ancient origins: it was created in the 16th century as a fish pond for the nearby Prösels Castle. Today, it is considered one of the cleanest bathing lakes in Italy, with one area open for summer swimming and another protected as a nature reserve, rich in biodiversity.

In summer, Fiè Lake is perfect for swimming, boating, walking along the circular trail, and relaxing on the equipped beaches. In winter, the frozen lake becomes a magical setting for ice skating, surrounded by a fairytale landscape.

The area is steeped in local legends, such as that of the Witches’ Rock, a mystical site once believed to host ancient rituals. The spring that feeds the lake, known as Schlernblut (“Sciliar’s blood”), adds a touch of mystery and tradition.
