Discovering Auronzo Lake

Auronzo Lake, also known as Santa Caterina Lake, is one of the most iconic destinations in the Belluno Dolomites, nestled in the Ansiei Valley within the municipality of Auronzo di Cadore. This artificial lake, created in 1932 by damming the Ansiei Stream, stretches for about 2 km and offers breathtaking scenery and year-round activities.


Surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Cadini di Misurina, and Croda dei Toni, the lake reflects postcard-perfect views. The pedestrian and cycling path that runs along its shores is ideal for walks and bike rides immersed in nature.
