Objevování Passo Limo

Limojoch Pass (2,174 m a.s.l.), also known as Limojoch in German and Ju de Limo in Ladin, is one of the most iconic passes in the Fanes Dolomites, located between Alpe di Fanes Grande and Alpe di Fanes Piccola, in the heart of the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park. This pass connects Val di Marebbe to Val di Fanes, offering a rare Dolomite landscape of stunning beauty, with green highlands, alpine lakes and spectacular peaks.

The pass can be reached from San Vigilio di Marebbe via CAI trail 7 starting from Rifugio Pederü (1,548 m), or from San Cassiano via CAI trail 11 which passes through Capanna Alpina, Col da Locia and Lago di Limo (2,159 m). Both trails are part of the Dolomites High Route No. 1, one of Europe's most celebrated treks.

Near the pass are Rifugio Fanes and Rifugio Lavarella, ideal for hikers and families. The landscape is dominated by peaks such as Sasso di Santa Croce, Croda del Becco and Vallon Bianco, while the nearby "Parliament of Marmots", a natural amphitheater of stratified rocks, adds a fairy-tale touch to the setting.

From a cultural perspective, Limojoch Pass is linked to Ladin legends of the Kingdom of Fanes, an ancient mythical people who would have inhabited these lands. The area is perfect for nature excursions, photography trekking and sustainable tourism.
